Me Museum

My Second Grade team always has the coolest ideas. This is my first year to be at my school at the very beginning. One thing that I missed out on but got to do this year was the "Me Museum". Students were asked to bring 3 artifacts that meant something to them. It could be pictures, treasured items, hand-made crafts, etc. The kiddos did an AMAZING job at creating their Me Museum signs and then writing the information cards that described a little bit about each object. My kiddos definitely thought outside the box...

The kiddos pretended they were actually in a Museum and went around and looked at each kiddo's museum. Here are a few pictures from that day.

Get on the Bus!! Driving into a positive year

This summer, we were asked to read this great book called The Energy Bus by Jon Gordon. This book has really changed my life and perspective not only in the classroom but outside the classroom. I have noticed a change and so has my lovely finance. I believe in this book so much that I got one for my momma. The rules ...
1.You're the driver of the bus
2. Desire, vision, and focus move your bus in the right direction.
3. Fuel your ride with positive energy
4. Invite people on your bus and share your vision for the road ahead
5. Don't waste your energy on those who don't get on your bus
6. Post a sign that says "No energy vampires allowed" on your bus
7. Enthusiasm attracts more passengers and energizes them along the way.
8. Love your passengers
9. Drive with purpose
10. Have fun and enjoy the ride.

Well, where are my manners. I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Lila Hranitzky and I teach 2nd grade in Texas. This is what I call my 1.5 year at McAuliffe because I was a forced transfer last year. However, I believe everything happens for a reason and it does. I'm at a great school and have a fabulous team. I'm getting married in a month and three days to a fabulous man named Kenny. It is true what they say, you marry your better half. Just totally in LOVE with him. When I'm not in the classroom, I  love to go to Stars games, read, cook and bake.

Looking forward to sharing what is going on in the classroom with y'all.
